Newhaven Stud’s new stallion Delago Deluxe won’t lack for company at their Booroowa farm this spring with the Delago Deluxe Syndicate securing a bevy of lovely mares for the dual Group I winning son of Encosta de Lago at the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

The Delago Deluxe Syndicate signed for 13 mares totalling $657,000 with John Kelly confirming all of them will be covered by Delago Deluxe this spring.

Among the mares are:

*stakes-placed Jardaa (GB)($100,000) , a half-sister by Pivotal to French Group II winner Baqah.

*Lady Ice ($70,000), an unraced Redoute’s Choice mare from the family of Group I winners Snowland and Myboycharlie.

*Already ($67,500), a winning sister to Group II winning juvenile Brightexpectations.

*Alezan Thunder ($65,000), brilliant stakes-placed juvenile that was third in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and is straight off the track.

*Frenetica ($56,000), metropolitan winner and fourth in the Group II MRC Angus Armanasco Stakes, from the family of Group I winners With Me and Accomplice.

The burgeoning success of red hot young sire Northern Meteor has not been lost on the Delago Deluxe team, as their young sire fits a very similar profile in that both stallions are explosive Group I winning sprinters by champion sire Encosta de Lago.

“Northern Meteor is going from strength to strength with his Group One quinella last weekend in the JJ Atkins the icing on the cake, so we are taking some confidence from his success in looking forward with Delago Deluxe,” Kelly added.

Delago Deluxe stands this spring at a fee of $11,000.
