October 7, 2016Sandown Win for Try Four
Super consistent since joining the stable of Darren Weir, royally bred Fastnet Rock gelding Try Four racked up his eighth win when scoring a determined victory at Sandown on Wednesday.
He ploughed thought the heavy conditions to win over 2100 metres by a head taking his earnings in excess of $160,000.
A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven draft in 2012, Try Four runs for well-known owners Graham and Linda Huddy.
Bred and sold by Newhaven, he is from Group I Queensland Oaks winner Allow, so is bred to appreciate a journey and the five year-old just keeps getting better with age.
Allow has a yearling filly by Sebring that was sold by Newhaven Park at Magic Millions this year for $230,000 and she has a weanling colt by the same sire to follow.
Allow was covered last spring by Newhaven Park’s young gun sire Delago Deluxe, who will have his first runners next season.
