July 23, 2015Newhaven Winner at Warrnambool
Warrnambool, July 12 – – Having his second run for new trainer Darren Weir, progressive Fastnet Rock gelding Try Four posted his fifth victory when scoring at Warrnambool on Sunday.
He did a great job to carry 59 kg and overcome the outside gate in a field of 14 to snare a neck win in the Benchmark 70 event over 1700 metres.
A consistent performer for well-known owners Graham and Linda Huddy, Try Four has won $84,000 in prizemoney from just 19 starts and looks set for a good campaign.
A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newhaven draft in 2012, Try Four was also bred by Newhaven and is from Group I Queensland Oaks winner Allow, so is bred to appreciate a journey and is improving with maturity.
Allow has a weanling filly by Sebring and will foal again to the same sire this spring.
