South Africa, April 4 – Outstanding Redoute’s Choice entire Wylie Hall added another feature race win to his tally in South Africa when taking out the Group II Colorado King Stakes at Turffontein on Saturday.
Prepared by Weiho Marwing for Michael Leaf, Wylie Hall was sent out favourite and coasted clear to win the 2000 metre contest by a length and a half.
Wylie Hall has won five of 19 starts and is already a Group I winner having taken out the Group I South African Derby at three.
A $205,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Newhaven Park, Wylie Hall is a half-brother to Group I winning sprinter Absolute Champion and is one of seven winner from Ideal Planet mare Beauty Belle, whose family features Group I winners Grand Armee, Drum, Anamato and Dealer Principal.
Newhaven Park will offer a close relation to Wylie Hall at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next week.
Lot 236 is a lovely bay filly by Sepoy from Two Beauties, a winning half-sister to both Wylie Hall and Group I HK International Sprint winner Absolute Champion.
