Brisbane, December 4 – Opening his account with a debut victory at Doomben on Friday was two year-old colt Yankee Express, an $11,000 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale purchase from the draft of Newhaven Park.
Trained by Matthew Dunn, Yankee Express was sent out favourite and did a good job to win by a neck with six lengths back to the third horse in the 1050 metre maiden.
Bred by Newhaven Park, Yankee Express is the third winner from Bit of a Gal, who comes from the family of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success and Group II winner Bring Me the Maid.
Yankee Express is also closely related to Group III winner Bachman, who is by his sire All American.
