June 2, 2016Newhaven Park Cheer Infra Dig
May 17 – Last on debut at Flemington in the spring behind Concealer in the Group III VRC Emirates
Airlines Plate, blue-blooded Exceed and Excel filly Infra Dig made a lie of that form when resuming to
win easily at Wyong on Tuesday and was cheered by not only Darley, but also Newhaven Park.
Prepared by John O’Shea for Godolphin, two year-old Infra Dig was favourite for the 1100 metre
maiden having chased home subsequent stakes-winner Manaya for second in a recent trial.
She jumped well for Brenton Avdulla and travelled smoothly in third place before switching around
the leaders in heels on the turn to skip away and win by a length and three-quarters.
Infra Dig is the third winner from three foals to race from minor winning Encosta de Lago mare
Shibboleth, a three-quarter sister-in- blood to Group I ATC All Aged Stakes winner English.
Shibboleth was on-sold for $40,000 at the 2014 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale by Darley
and picked up by Newhaven Park, who bred and race English.
Newhaven Park also bred Shibboleth, selling her at the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for
$460,000 to Woodlands Stud, so she’s come full circle in returning to the paddocks where she was
born at Boorowa!
Shibboleth produced a colt by Helmet for Newhaven Park in 2015 that was sold as a weanling for
$24,000 and is due to foal this spring to Snitzel.
