March 17, 2015Black Type for Peeping
Sydney, March 6 – Promising Redoute’s Choice filly Peeping looked good when resuming from a spell to win at Randwick last month at a midweek meeting and handled the rise in class to stakes company with a close second in the Listed ATC Fireball Quality on Saturday.
The Ron Quinton trained filly jumped well from a wide gate and was always up on the pace before being run down late by the eventual winner Nayeli, who scored by a neck in the 1100 metre dash.
“She went really well, as I probably wasn’t expecting to be up on the pace like that but they went very slow,” said Sam Clipperton.
“She’s definitely one to be looking at in the future.”
Peeping has won two of her four starts and is entered for the Group I ATC Queen of the Turf Stakes and Australian Oaks.
Peeping is a homebred for the Kelly family of Newhaven Park and is the first foal of Group II winning Encosta de Lago mare Miss Marielle, who was bought as a tried horse at the 2009 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale for $250,000.
A Listed winner when she was purchased, Miss Marielle excelled for new trainer Joe Pride and added the Group II STC Hill stakes and Group III AJC Craven Plate to her resume in her new ownership.
Miss Marielle has a yearling colt by Redoute’s Choice that will be offered by Newhaven Park as Lot 56 at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
