February 23, 2015Another Win for Zac Spirit
Singapore, February 23 – Australian bred five year-old Zac Spirit, a Newhaven Park bred son of Flying Spur, was crowned Champion Singapore Sprinter of 2014 and added another win to his tally when saluting at Kranji last Friday.
The Cliff Brown trained speedster won the Macau Jockey Club Trophy over 1400 metres by three lengths, taking his overall record to nine wins from 17 starts.
A $140,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Newhaven draft, Zac Spirit is from well related Kidman and was snapped up by his trainer Cliff Brown, who also trained his stakes-winning three-quarter brother Zac Influence.
A stakes-placed Quest for Fame (GB) mare from the family of outstanding racehorse and sire Zeditave, Kidman featured at the 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale where her colt by Redoute’s Choice sold for $720,000 to James Harron Bloodstock/John Moynihan.
Kidman is now back in foal to Redoute’s Choice after missing the year before.
