Kilmore, December 2 – Newhaven Park enjoyed much success on the track with former brilliant filly Media, who featured with a winner at Kilmore on Tuesday when lightly raced mare Aware broke the ice to score her first win.
Bred and retained to race by Newhaven Park and partners, the four year-old daughter of Tale of the Cat (USA) who is trained by Heath Conners.
Aware is the third winner from three foals to race from Media, a Group II winner that was also Group I placed in the Golden Slipper and The Galaxy earning over $800,000 in prizemoney.
Media has foaled successfully this spring producing a colt by champion sire Fastnet Rock.
Aware is the second winner to carry the Newhaven colours in less than a week with imported Rahy mare Rahy Storm (USA) scoring at Canterbury last Wednesday for Joe Pride.
A half-sister to US stakes-winner The Rectiofier and three-quarter sister-in-blood to another US stakes-winner in Rahy’s Appeal, Rahy Storm has won two of 10 starts.
