Aussie Redoute’s Choice Winner in South Africa
Breaking his maiden at start three by a big margin at Vaal in South Africa on Thursday was Redoute’s Choice three year-old Wylie Hall.
Trained by Weiho Marwing, Wylie Hall relished the step up to 1700 metres, powering away to win by five and a half lengths after placing at his only two previous runs.
A $205,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Newhaven Park, Wylie Hall is a half-brother to Group I winning sprinter Absolute Champion and is the seventh winner from Ideal Planet mare Beauty Belle, whose family features Group I winners Grand Armee, Drum, Anamato and Dealer Principal.
Newhaven Park sold the current yearling from Beauty Belle, a colt by Encosta de Lago at the recent Magic Millions for $120,000 to Apollo Ng.
